Greenland Trekking Expedition - July 5 to 15, 2022.
Lusting for a chance to experience true remoteness? We have organized a trekking expedition for Greenland for July 9-19 2021. Highlights include visiting a small Inuit hunting community, views of the Denmark Strait, vistas of glacier snouts, and calving glaciers in the Sermiligaq Fjord. The trip is based out of Kulusuk, Greenland, a settlement of 267 people in the Sermersooq municipality in southeastern Greenland, located on an island of the same name. Kusuluk has daily direct flights to Reykjavik, Iceland. The trekking will be supported by boat, but will be very rugged due to the complete absence of any formal trails. There will be no technical climbing, but there will be river fords, straight forward scrambling and some glacier travel. This is a unique opportunity to visit a very remote location that is virtually untouched by tourism. Contact Steve Fedyna at fedynas@shaw.ca for more details.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
