Itinerary:

BITS-friendly Ski tour (or a just a mellow day out)

Ring in the new year with a day in one of the prettiest valleys in the mountains. This trip is to the stunning Chickadee Valley. We will not do any turns, just tour around this stunning valley. We will stay in Simple terrain, so don't expect any turns. Just a beautiful day out in the mountains, with great views. We will do some transceiver practice and do a test pit along the way.

The location may change based on conditions and weather. In severe High or Extreme conditions the trip may be cancelled

This is a great trip to work on endurance, being on your AT gear and getting outside in January. Total distance is about 11km with 200m elevation gain.

Required Items to Bring:
AT Skis or Splitboard, Skins, Avy Gear (3 Antennae beacon, shove, probe), warm layers, mittens/gloves, toque, food, water, ski straps, lunch.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Helmet, sunscreen, lip protection, neck gaiter

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
