BITS-friendly Ski tour (or just a mellow ski tour)
This trip is to the beautiful Paradise Valley, between Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. We will stay in Simple terrain, so don't expect many turns. Just a beautiful day out in the mountains, with great views. We will skin from Lake Louise parking lot along either the summer horse trail or else beside the Fairview XC track and then up into Paradise Valley.
Once in the valley, we will see if we will enjoy the great views, and if interest we can find a good place for a test pit, but really it's just a beautiful valley to explore by ski.
The location may change based on conditions and weather. In severe High or Extreme avalanche conditions, or if the daily high temperature is below -20 then I expect the trip will be cancelled
There are next to no turns on this trip. This is a great trip to work on endurance, being on your AT gear and getting outside in January. Total distance is about 15km with 250m elevation gain.
Note, this is not the shouldice arena, but just a
bit past it near the Bow River.
Please don't cancel on this trip last minute!
