The 4TH ANNUAL Women's Mentor Group Beauty Creek Ice Climbing Weekend! All levels welcome, from total beginners to leaders. We will have 2 toprope days - most likely: Saturday Tangle, Sunday Balfour. Options for multipitching will depend on participants. We have 12 spots booked at Beauty Creek hostel. Cost will be approx $70 with subsidy for trip leaders. Potluck dinner Saturday. Spots will not be filled until January at which point payment will be requested. Organization of carpooling, food etc. will occur shortly before the event.

HOW TO GET ON THIS TRIP: 1. email the trip leaders with your experience & goals, particularly if we do not already know you. Factors that help you get on the trip: prior participation with the WMG, participation in other ACC trips, participation in ACC courses esp. ice related, if you have been waitlisted and thus not able to attend other WMG trips.

Feel free to email with questions: annedrewpotter@gmail.com

The WOMEN'S MENTORSHIP GROUP: This group exists to address the underrepresentation of women in outdoor pursuits and the personal, social, cultural and other barriers that cause this reality. This is not a gender exclusive group, but we do create events that ensure women can access mentorship, partnership & learning in an environment where they are not the minority. We strive to generate a supportive-style learning environment. We aim to run at least 1 event per month. Historically these have focussed on ice & rock climbing (like the annual Beauty Creek Ice Extravaganza), but we would love to see more skiing, alpine, hiking & scrambling events!

Required Items to Bring:
Crampon-compatible boots (ski boots work), ice crampons*, ice tools*, harness, helmet, belay device, personal anchor (or 2), goggles/glasses for face protection, gloves (multiple), warm layers etc. *you may be able to borrow or rent these if you don't own them...

Recommended Items to Bring:
thermos, hand warmers, screws, draws, screamers.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
