Itinerary: |
NOTE: THE DATE MIGHT CHANGE BUT THIS IS MY BEST GUESS. LOOKING FOR INDICATIONS OF INTEREST. 6 days of backcountry skiing at some sweet
spots in west Kootenay.
There will be complex avalanche terrain. 1 night of winter camping if not too cold ie-15 (it's much milder out there than Alberta). This is so we can ski summit Mt Brennan and enjoy a >1500 vertical meter powder ski decent
DAY 1: On the drive out we'll stretch the legs
with a
ski tour at Kootenay Pass, spending the night
at Hotel Ymir. Take in the Friday night
Hillbilly Jam session and dinner special in the
pub. DAYS 2-5: Day trips
based out of B&B near Kaslo, minutes
from ski
objectives.
Winter camp for one
night.
DAY 6:
Stop for more turns at
Kootenay Pass or elsewheres
on the drive back to Alberta.
Accommodations approx $30/night for hotel Ymir and B&B.
Winter camping experience not required but you need suitable gear. I can help with any questions.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
