Itinerary: |
This mentorship event is part of the AMP (Alpine Mentorship Program) organized by ACC Calgary section jointly with ACMG Guide Brent Peters.
This is a one-day overview of glacier travel and crevasse rescue just in time for traverse/ski mountaineering season. Maybe you want to get on a glacier this spring but don't know crevasse rescue, maybe it's just been a while and you could use some practice to dust off the cobwebs. Maybe you want to practice to be a great teammate and not rely on the trip leader... who is going to be at the bottom of the crevasse...
The goals/objectives are:
- Glacier travel and risk assessment
- Rope work for glacier travel
- Building snow anchors
- Crevasse rescue
- Ascending/descending the rope
Cost: $135
-
Put your name on the waitlist.
-
Email your experience to Tyler at tylerhallman@hotmail.com . Very likely you will be accepted, but the coordinator will confirm your acceptance before you pay.
-
Once accepted please use the Paypal button in this page to pay.
-
Email the receipt to the trip coordinator. Once I have confirmation from you that you have paid, I will move you from the waiting to the attendee list.
*A note about this event. This is a "Mentorship" event. If you have never taken crevasse rescue and are unfamiliar with climbing knots there will be some pre-work for you to do so that you come prepared to get the most out of your day.*

Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
