Mount Cline is the highest, and the only 11,000er in the David
Thompson! We will tackle the Southwest Ridge (II, 5.4). Preference
will be given to participants of the Summer AMP events.
Depart Calgary around 5pm Friday July 26th and drive to the
David Thompson Resort where we will camp for the night. Saturday
morning we will do some cragging at The Dark Side. We will then hike
into the Mount Cline bivy site (~4hr). Sunday will be an alpine start to
climb the Southwest Ridge of Mount Cline then return to Calgary in
the evening.
Cost will be ~$20 per person for camping.
Required Items to Bring:
Personal gear/clothing and food for two nights of camping.
A formal gear list will be provided closer to the event.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Quick draws and sport climbing gear if planning to lead.
Warm belay jacket, extra pair of gloves, extra layers/warm
clothing, waterproof shell, thermos with hot drinks, lunch,
sunglasses, sun screen and camera.
Waiver: Everyone attending this event will be required to sign the
ACC Waiver
at the beginning of the event. Read the waiver carefully to ensure you fully
understand it. If possible, please print and fill it out except for
the signature fields before arriving at the event.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
