Most likely target is the Volcano - McDougall - Old Baldy Traverse
Scramble
17.5 km loop, 1,500 m elevation gain, 8-11 h car-to-car.
he plan is to drive out to the Evan Thomas Day Use area and do a counter-clockwise traverse of Volcano Peak, Mount McDougall and Old Baldy Peak. In good conditions the traverse is a moderate scramble, although the recent snow, if still there, may make things more difficult. It may be a good idea to bring snow gear such as microspikes/crampons and an ice axe in the car and, based on conditions, decide in the parking lot if we want to put the gear in our packs or leave it behind.
There are options to retreat from the ridge if we encounter afternoon thunderstorms. Let one of the trip leaders know if you do not have a suitable rock helmet as we have some spares you can borrow.

Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
