Itinerary:
It looks like we might finally get a break in the weather this Sunday, so who's up for a day of climbing? Black Band on Tunnel Mountain in Banff has a good mix of climbs in the 5.8 - 5.10c range. The approach is only about 20 minutes, so you can save your energy for climbing. I will need at least one person who can provide a safe lead belay but all must be able to provide a safe top-rope belay. Please let me know in the comments section if you have your own gear (rope, draws, anchor package) and if you can lead/lead belay. I will set up top ropes for anyone who wants to TR.
Required Items to Bring:
- harness, helmet, belay device, rock shoes
- rope/draws/sport anchor if you have them
- lunch, water, rain clothes

Recommended Items to Bring:
- sunscreen, chalk, bug spray

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   The trailhead is just below the Banff Centre for the Arts. It shows on the map as the "Surprise Corner Viewpoint."
Carpool Departure Time:   07:30 AM
Carpool Location:   Our Lady of Assumption School
Carpool Directions:   Just north of 16th Ave on Sarcee Trail

Notes:
Please let me know in the comments section when you reply if you have your own gear (rope, draws, anchor material, etc.) and if you plan on lead climbing or top roping. Thanks.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
