Rescue Leader - Advanced
Are you leading, or thinking of leading, Alpine
trips for the Club?
Being able to effectively rescue your climbing
partner in a bad
situation is a key skill that we hope to never
use, but need to be
dialled in. Advance your level of training on this
course and receive
mentorship from renowned Rescue Professional and
Mountain
Guide
Cyril Shokoples.
This weekend will focus on advanced rescue skills
from a multi-
pitch
perspective. Participants will need to have
previously taken a rope
rescue course or have similar experience.
Prerequisites:
- Have taken Rope Rescue 101 (ACC Calgary)
and can
climb
moderately graded rock .
This course is arranged through Rescue Dynamics
and is taught
by Cyril Shokoples is an internationally
certified
mountain
guide, owner of Rescue Dynamics and Past President
of the
Association of Canadian
Mountain Guides. Cyril has received the
Distinguished Service
Award from both the ACC and the ACMG. In 2013,
Cyril was
inducted as an honorary member of the ACC. He has
taught the
ACC's North Face National Leadership Courses for
the past 15
years and has a long history of instruction with

Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
