Itinerary:
This trip is geared for past BITS participants who would like to take the next step and venture onto the Wapta Icefields. 2 nights will be spent at Bow Hut with possible summit attempts of either Mts. Gordon, Rhonda, Olive. Prerequisites: must have completed a full season of Bits within the last couple years (2019/2020 season does not count), have AST 1 or 2, have done a crevasse rescue course. The cost of this trip is $100.00- this will also cover your Wilderness Pass. You will be required to pay this to the treasurer once you have been moved to the attendee list. More details will follow as the ski season commences.
Required Items to Bring:
Skis (AT or Tele), boots, poles, skins. Avalanche gear: beacon, probe, shovel. Glacier gear: harness, ice axe, 3 locking biners (one needs to be a triple locker), 3 non locking biners, 2 cordelettes (7mm, one should be 5m the other can be 2m), Webbing (5m), glaciers glasses (sunglasses that wrap around are sufficient) Hut gear: sleeping bag, hut clothes and booties, food for 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Chocolate or alcoholic treats for your leaders. Sunscreen. Crampons may be used if we do mt. Olive.

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
