This mentorship event is part of the AMP
(Alpine Mentorship Program) organized by the
ACC Calgary section jointly with ACMG Guide
Brent Peters and PeakStratagem. Either Brent or
one of the PeakStratagem assistant guides will
be teaching this event.
This event is for climbers who want to learn
how to lead on trad gear. By the end of the
course you should be able to lead an easy
route, safely placing a variety of trad gear
along the way, build an anchor using trad
placements, select appropriate trad gear for
the climb you are on, clean a trad route on
second. Focus will be on gear placement.
This event is being held on the Saturday of
Rock Review. Those participating in the
weekend are welcome to sign up, and the course
will be held nearby. Attendance at Rock Review
is not required.
Cost: $104 for the one day course. This event
is a great deal compared to other similar
events.
Pre-requisites: Climbers signing up for
this course should be competent lead climbers
on rock up to 5.8, be able to safely belay both
lead and top rope, and be able to rappel.

build and clean an equalized anchor. Climbers
