Itinerary: |
Skill Session fundays number 2!! Lets get brushed up on rope
management and rescue skills. I will have a few accident
scenarios for the more experienced along with a review of
fundamental rope rescue techniques applicable for all types of
climbing to get us kicked off (this session will be focused on
techniques to move within a rope system after you have
escaped belay). Beginners welcome of course. :) A few
minutes of research pre meeting will make you most effective
but not necessary. (Escaping belays, hauling techniques,
extended rappels, rope ascension are some things you can
google). FYI, unfortunately there is no bathroom at the park.
|
Required Items to Bring: |
Bring everything you need to practice! You will need locking
and non locking biners, harnesses, belay device, personal
anchor, prussic, anchor, and a few draws. If you don't have all
of these things, I'll have some for you. I will also have
different types of prussic cords if you need one or want to try
other types.
|
|
Recommended Items to Bring: |
warm clothes, fluids and a snack optional! it is outside and
can get chilly sometimes when standing around. A weighted
pack or something that would work as an injuried climber
would be a bonus.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
