Itinerary: |
May 16 - The plan is to leave Calgary Thursday
late afternoon/evening and spend the night at the
Lake Louise Hostel.
May 17 - Early'ish rise and breakfast. Car pool
and travel up to the Columbia Icefield via the
Athabasca Glacier, set-up camp Friday afternoon
on the north side of the trench.
May 18 & 19. Saturday, if weather conditions
permit, we would rise with a typical alpine start
and travel up Mt Columbia. Alternatively, if
weather or avi conditions do not cooperate, we
would make a second attempt on Sunday or possibly
Snow Dome. Pls plan to be flexible.
May 20 - Break camp and head back to Calgary with
hopefully smiles on our face. Arrive early
evening.
Participants should be in good shape and have
completed a couple challenging trips this season.
You will have AST1 and AST2 would be preferred,
crevasse rescue, comfortable with a BIG pack, ice
/ axe crampon ascent of 40+ degree east face.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
The objective is very much weather and avi
condition dependent. The goal is not to cancel
the trip rather make best efforts to change the
location and objective.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
