Itinerary:

FINISH YOUR SEASON RIGHT! Come to the Freshfields.

This trip will dovetail in with the AMP trip to the Freshfields to save on helicopter costs and use common camp facilities for cooking and chilling. Cost is $725 per person.

The Freshfields are the premier ski touring, ski mountaineering, and all around great destination in the Rockies.  We’ll have a good camp set up, we will likely take the 5m dome tent, and enough gear to make this more comfortable than your average ACC hut.  The cost covers heli and group camp stuff.

Tyler is a coordinator only, he won’t be leading the daily tours.  You, or someone in the group should be comfortable leading tours in glaciated terrain.  You will need to supply your own sleeping bag and tent for sleeping (can be arranged with the group).  There is an option to have food supplied for 5 days for $200.

Flexibility to adjust dates slightly by a day or two is a definite asset for this trip.  The main concern is having good weather both for flights and skiing.

To sign up for this event:

  • Put your name on the waiting list
  • Once accepted by the coordinator, send an e-Transfer payment to the Treasurer at treasurerA MP@acccalgary.ca.  This payment must be made within 7 days of being accepted.  If you don't pay, we will move onto screening the next participant and you are moved to the bottom of the line.
  • When you send your payment, also send to  treasurerA MP@acccalgary.ca the following information: Name, Full address including postal code, phone number, email, course/event title and date, Trip Leader/Coordinator, and the password to accept payment.
  • Email the e-Transfer evidence to the trip coordinator, Tyler Hallman, tylerhallman @hotmail.com .  Once I have confirmation that you have paid, I will move you from the waiting to the attendee list.
Required Items to Bring:
Glacier gear, ski touring gear, winter camping gear. The group will bring fuel, stove(s) and 5m dome tent.

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   07:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Car pool lot by climbing center

Notes:
Guests are allowed, they will just be screened like everyone else.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

There is a chance the whole trip is cancelled due to weather. We need limited cloud cover to fly in and out. If the whole trip is cancelled due to weather a full refund will be made. If you drop out for other reasons you will forfeit your payment. You may find a replacement to go in your place (who is approved by the coordinator) and they will pay you.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
