Joffre is one of the 11,000 footers. It is one of those beautiful snow covered mountains that takes in some fantastic views in the upper Kananaskis region.

We will hike in 11 Kms on Saturday June 29, 2019 and camp at Aster Lake. We will have a very early 3:00 a.m. start on Sunday, June 30, 2019 to climb Joffre. We’ll return to camp and enjoy some rest, possibly climb up Sarail if we have lots of energy otherwise catch up on sleep. Hike out on July 1, 2019 back to the parking lot and home.

We will have a pre-trip screening hike and practice on May 4, 2019 up EEOR, Grotto or Baldy, so once it is posted please sign up if you want to be considered for the Joffre trip. If we have not climbed, hiked or been on trips with you than send us your ice climbing and mountaineering experience. We will make our final selections by end of May.

Once you have been selected you can make the payment of $44.00 via paypal:

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

There is no refund for cancellations once payment is made but if you have to cancel you will be directed to find a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the leaders. The replacement will then make payment to the participant who cancelled.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
