Itinerary:
This is a practice session for ROCK IT attendees to go out and practice the skills they learned in the previous training sessions. It isn't mandatory, but we encourage everyone who cannot attend this session to practice on their own, so they can move on to the next topic at the next training session.

This event is specifically for ROCK IT participants.

The Real Outdoor Climbing Knowledge Introductory Training (ROCK IT) program is the Calgary Section’s introduction to rock climbing program. This is for all people new to rock climbing. No previous experience in any climbing activity is required; however, a certain amount of basic fitness for the approaches (max 30min) and to carry a backpack with gear to the crag would be an advantage. ROCK IT is not a training program for your physical strength, but we will set you up with the technical knowledge necessary to take part on other Section trips posted on the trip schedule throughout the summer like the weekly Rock Rage, as well as other ACC day and weekend trips. The ultimate goal of the program is to take participants from the beginner level to self sufficient climbers who can climb on their own and be safe and competent climbing partners. All of the sessions will be posted on the club calendar, so keep an eye out for them.

-Helmets are mandatory. -bring your rain jacket and don't assume the event will be cancelled just because the forecast looks bad. If for some reason the event needs to be cancelled, we will send out a notification by 3PM the afternoon of the event.

Please make sure you read the entire program description here: http://www.acccalgary.ca/2017/0 4/ rock-it-2017/
