Itinerary: |
Of course, ski season is still in full swing,
but the forecasted warm temperatures for the
upcoming weekend would also make for a nice day
of early season rock climbing as well. The plan
is to drive out to K-Country on Sunday not too
early and enjoy a nice day of rock climbing on
a nice unpolished south facing slab only a few
people know about. This little gem provides
about 20 to 25 sport routes in between 15 and
35 m long starting around 5.6 up to about mid-
5.10s. This is your chance to get away from the
snow and ice business for a day and get your
foot technique ready for the upcoming rock
season after all the plastic pulling over the
winter. The approach will be mostly flat,
should be pretty much snow free and is about 35
to 45 min long.
You should be at least able to give me a save
belay, but there is no need to lead unless you
want to. If you have a rope/anchor/gear to lead
or set up a top- rope, please include that
information in the comments section when you
sign up. Please also email a brief climbing
resume (just a few lines) if we haven't climbed
together before. Carpool time, gear to bring
etc. will be finalized once participants are
selected.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
