On multiday trips you are considered to be in a cohort with the other participants and specific safety measures are the discretion of the trip coordinator. Note: If this is an 18+ event, you may have trouble registering if your Date of Birth isn't entered. To update your DOB, please log on and go to Account -> Edit Account and update the "Date of Birth" field.
Costs: $305 (this includes tax) for two days
Course Content: The intent of this two-day
course is to give
participants an introduction to the intricacies
of leading and following
aid pitches. The curriculum would include:
testing pieces, efficiency, rope ascension and
lower outs. All systems
will be practiced as mock-leads or with back-up
This is not a beginner course so some climbing
necessary. Participants should have some of
their own rack and
should have taken a trad rock course.
Required Items to Bring:
Sean will supply full list to those accepted.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Warm clothes (expect to stand around and
listen/learn) and then
participate, sun screen and camera
Applicants will be reviewed as this is not a
beginner course. When
you sign-up please send the Co-ordinators an
email stating if you
have had the TRAD course and your climbing

If a participant is unable to attend a course
or paid trip, there will be
no refund unless the participant finds a
suitable replacement that is
acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will

responsibility to recover funds from the

The Calgary Section of the Alpine Club of Canada is a not for profit / flow through course and trip provider. We organize courses and trips based on member demand and divide any costs that we incur between event attendees. In other words, we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
