Itinerary:

Let’s tour to the SE end of Watermelon Ridge and ski on its sunny SW aspects. This area seems to have a few other names: Puzzle Peak Ramp or Oxo Ramp.

THIS IS AN EASY, FRIENDLY PACED UPTRACK (about 250 v-m/h), about 6 km in with 800 m elevation gain.

Its basically the south entrance to the Dolomite Circuit tour, but detouring to the NE after about 2.5 km from the highway. This takes us to "The Ramp". There is a bloggers description at:
https://www.backcountry-beta.com/routes/oxo-puzzle-peak-ramp/

The plan is to give slackers (like me) a lazy lunch on the sunny south-west aspect slopes, soaking up the scenery in a safe spot up top, while any lappers lap lines to their hearts’ content.

Safety first! Any Slacker and Lapper sub-groups can be in constant visual contact on these slopes. The runs are about 400 m vertical and 1.5 km long (about 27 degrees incline) and look pretty sweet.

If conditions deteriorate a Plan-B could be lapping the Storm Mountain Firebreak and area.

Please send a brief ski resume so that we will all know our party’s safety training repertoire and experience (unless it is already listed in your club website profile). Please be prepared to discuss avalanche conditions and safety as a group when we meet and ski. We can adjust our goals to suit the group. Thank you!

The usual safety gear (beacon, probe, shovel, etc), skis or split-board, skins and poles, water, lunch ... etc
