Itinerary: |
BITS for people who are good at downhill
skiing/snowboarding, have a reasonably good level
of fitness,
but are new to the backcountry. This event is a #2
hour in a
series which will get progressively more advanced.
Please try to sign up for all BITS 2.0 events if
possible. The intention of this series is to keep
this group more
or less together as we progress through the season
into
challenging/complex terrain.
Ability required = Very confidently ski diamond
terrain at the ski hill and preferably enjoy skiing
double
diamond terrain.
Fitness required = reasonably good (active, or
willing to train as necessary). Our target
vertical will
start at 700m and progress to 1500m. The best
candidates are those who regularly do cardio
activities of
some type a couple times per week.
An application is required. Please go to: https://docs.goog
le.c
om/file/d/0BwHnxoLC80mZMjB6TnkzMUNhYms/edit?
usp=docslist_api&filetype=msword You
won’t be added to the trips without completing an
application. Please respond with to the questions
with
full sentences, and make sure it makes sense as a
stand-
alone statement - so that it easy for me to read
and
understand.
There is a significant amount of homework
required to
participate in the BITS trips led by Tyler and
Ryan. You
will be expected to do it.
Don’t sign up if you 1) can’t ski or
snowboard downhill well, 2) aren’t fit or are in
willing to
get fit, 3) unwilling to put in some effort and do
the homework.

Please inform me if you are unable to attend
any of the scheduled dates well in advance so I
may invite a participant on the waiting
list.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
