Saturday, Dec 15, 2018
(Carpool Departure: 07:00 AM @ TBD)
Ski day trips in Rogers Pass, based out of Golden. I've booked a family room (four separate bunk beds) in the Dreamcatcher Hostel for three nights. Day one, stop somewhere for turns on the way to Golden (probably Lake Louise area, e.g. Narrao, Paget). Days 2-3, drive up to the Pass in the morning and return to Golden at the end of the day. Day 4 - up to the Pass in the morning, return to Calgary in the evening. Daily objectives will be determined as a group. Glacier travel is a possibility, depending on the group and conditions (if an option, confirmed before departure).
Required Items to Bring:
Beacon (three antenna), probe, shovel. Clothes for cold and wet weather. AT / telemark skis (100mm waist minimum recommended) or split board. AST 1 training.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).
The Calgary Section of the Alpine Club of Canada is a not for profit / flow through course and trip provider. We organize courses and trips based on member demand and divide any costs that we incur between event attendees. In other words, we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
