If you plan to attend any of the Backcountry Intro
to Skiing (BITS) Events this year, please attend
this info session. Similarly if you are new to
backcountry skiing, or new to skiing with the
club, please feel free to attend.
What is BITS - Easy ski trips intended to
introduce a person to backcountry skiing.
What is covered in the info session: basics of the
program, gear, what to wear, what to expect on ACC
trips, some avalanche basics, expectations of you
and recommended skills.
If you want to take BITS you will need to have AST
1 or be registered to take it this year. It is
recommended to take the Mountain Weather and Map
and Compass Courses in Nov and Dec 2018.
Registration is currently open.
*Attending this event will make it more likely you
get on the BITS events you want to attend*

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
