Itinerary:
Let's go clean off those dirty cracks! If you don't know it, Cowbell Crag is a lovely cliff full of inviting cracks just north of the HWY 40/940 junction. While the approach is about 5 minutes, this site is nonetheless usually peaceful with the main traffic on the road being the occasional motorcycle. We can set up some TRs and you can practice climbing, gear placement, mock-leading and leading according to your taste. If you've never placed pro before, we will cover the basics. Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, harness, climbing shoes, personal anchor, belay/rappel device, prusik/autoblock.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Take HWY 40 south from the Stoney Nakoda Casino, approx 100km or HWY 541 from Longview until it meets hwy 40 and turns north. The cairn marking the crag is just by a "Texas Gate" sign. https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/canada/kananaskis- country/area/11923129
Carpool Departure Time:   08:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Rafter Six Ranch for those at Rock Review, or elsewhere TBD

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
