Participants: Anyone looking to practice/learn snow climbing skills is welcome on this trip. Or you can attend two full days of skills training to really get tuned up for the coming alpine season.

We'll work on skills such as climbing steep snow, step kicking, self-arrest, glissading, roping up for glacier travel, crevasse rescue, route-finding, anchors, etc. The plan for each day can be flexible to account for what participants are most keen to practice, so come with ideas!

The Plan:

Meet at Rampart Creek hostel at 7:30am to form teams and distribute group gear. From there we'll head to Parker's ridge to practice for the day.

Required Items to Bring:
Harness, helmet, mountaineering ice axe, mountaineering boots prussiks, misc. carabiners/cordage/webbing (to be discussed), pack.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Desire to share what you know and learn things you don't.

This trip is part of the Alpine Review.
