Itinerary: |
Cordillera Blanca region of northern Peru is a
range that is home to 25 peaks
over 6,000m.
The plan is to work our way up and acclimatize to
do some of the more technical peaks in the area
namely Alpamayo and Quitaraju.
Event is split into 3 parts
Acclimatization peaks/lakes near Huaraz - 3-4
days.
Ishinca valley peaks which includes Ishinca
(5,530m; PD-) and Toclaraju (6,032m; D) - 5 days
The main objectives of Alpamayou (5947m; AD+)
and Quitaraju (6040m;D) - 9 days.
The trip is self-guided and you will need to carry
your own gear to the high camps. We will have
porters and mules to get to the base camps. You
need to be competent at following long WI3+ routes
and good alpine, glacier travel and navigation
skills.
The trip is form Jun 9 to Jul 2nd to maximize long
weekend time. Air fares are currently $1000 and
the cost of the
local Logistics is still being determined but
likely around $2000+/-.
If you are interested in taking part, put yourself
on the Wait List and I will be in touch. Also if
we have not climbed together I expect you will
join me on some adventures and workouts before
being accepted on the trip.

Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
