Itinerary:
Feb.16 drive to Maligne Canyon hostel Feb.17 ski Pyramid Fire Rd to the Palisade high point - about 24 km return, elev. gain about 900 m. Second night at Maligne Canyon hostel. Feb.18 ski to Jacques Lake via Summit Lakes - about 24 km return, elev. gain about 100 m. Third night at Maligne Canyon hostel. Feb.19 ice skating on one of the lakes. I have not been to this area - please come prepared for route finding and trail breaking.
Required Items to Bring:
Skis (light touring will work best), ski boots, poles, avi gear (shovel, probe, transceiver), skins, wax, ice skates, snowshoes (in case), warm layers, hat, gloves, food for all three days, water, sunglasses, headlamp, bag for dirty boots, cash for drivers, Parks Pass, First Aid Kit.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Bivy, gaiters, camera, bear spray, Thermos, GPS/map/compass, PLB, hand and feet warmers.

Please reserve your bed for the three nights (Feb.16-19) at the HI - Maligne Canyon in Jasper, then email me and I will place You on the attendance list.

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
