Itinerary:
SPORTS INJURIES + PREVENTION Please join us on an educational evening, focusing on injuries + injury prevention. I’m sure we’ve all suffered from shoulder + lower limb twinges/injuries. Come along and learn how we can prevent these from happening! Dr. Colin Johnston will be talking about Hiking and Injury prevention. There will be a focus on several lower body injuries (IT Band syndrome, Meniscus, ACL/PCL, Achilles tendonitis, Plantar fasciitis) discussing why they happen, how we can prevent them from happening and what prehab and rehab will look like. There will be a q&a after the presentation and a hand out summary. Athletic Therapist Andrea Dowd will then be talking about shoulder injuries associated with climbing, the types of shoulder dysfunctions. She will educate you on how to avoid injury and implement easy exercises to compliment climbing. Andrea plans on making this a fun filled evening that will be very interactive. Please wear loose fitting clothing/a tank top if you want to take part in the interactive element of the presentation, be assessed and get ready to work!
Required Items to Bring:
Cash for beers or wine!

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
