Itinerary:
This trip is for people who have just started trad leading, and would like to stretch their legs on a multipitch, but with solid backup and coaching along the way. We'll head to Mother's day buttress (5.6 8 pitch trad route with bolted anchors & cruxes), where the two participants will lead the entire climb. I have climbed this route multiple times, and so can offer coaching on gear, double rope management, route finding, etc. I'll also be there as a backup and can take over leading if needed.

If you are interested to come on this climb, please send me a note at susan.twitchell(at)gmail.com describing your climbing experience and trad gear placement training. Participants should have already received instruction in the correct placement of trad gear, and have lead at least some rock climbs in the past (even just a few low difficulty single pitch trad or multi-pitch sport are fine), and be comfortable leading at least 5.7 sport.

Required Items to Bring:
Trad rack (or whatever gear you have), helmet, harness, personal anchor, belay device, climbing shoes, anchor materials/backpack (the route is a walkoff, so everything you bring is coming up & over with us, choose carefully!).

Notes:
This climbing event is inspired by the Women's Mentoring Group, but participants of any gender are welcome!

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

Cancellation Policy
If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
