COVID 19 Info: Please protect yourself and others. On single day trips please practice social distancing. Masks are recommended when within 2m of non-cohort participants. On multiday trips you are considered to be in a cohort with the other participants and specific safety measures are the discretion of the trip coordinator. The plan is to head up Mount Saskatchewan with an option to ascend
Castleguard and exit via the Saskatchewan Glacier.
Required Items to Bring:
Glacier gear, tent, sleeping bag and pad, stove, the ten essentials,
mountaineering axe and knowledge of its use, mountaineering boots
shoes), Spare pair of shoes for after the trip, helmet,
warm clothes and gloves, insulated jacket (Preferably a medium
weight down jacket), shell jacket, shell pants and gloves, balaclava,
personal first aid kit and emergency blanket or bivy bag,
food and water, headlamp, bear spray, hiking poles, NO COTTON
CLOTHES OR GEAR. A pack big enough to carry all the gear listed
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non- recoverable costs).
The Calgary Section of the Alpine Club of Canada is a not for profit / flow through course and trip provider. We organize courses and trips based on member demand and divide any costs that we incur between event attendees. In other words, we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
