Itinerary:
The Dolomite Peak Circuit is one of the finest ski tours in the Canadian Rockies. The beauty of this tour, across alpine snow-fields high above tree line, is extraordinary. A classic ski long ski tour, 19 km with 650 m + elevation gain. The circuit starts at Helen Creek on the Ice Field Parkway and ends at Mosquito Creek. Because this tour does not return to the same point on the highway, we will need two cars. This will be a full day of touring against a shorter day of light, so participants need to be prepared for a continuous touring day, although conditions permitting we will include some great ski turns above Katherine Lake. Participants are required to have AST 1 and capable of skiing in varied conditions. Our meeting / carpool location will be at Laggans in Lake Louise as I will be coming from Kicking Horse. Please arrive EARLY so we can have a hello, trip overview, sign waivers, grab a coffee and hit the road promptly at 7:45. We can also organize those coming from Calgary into a carpool if interested.
Required Items to Bring:
Transceiver (3 Antennae), probe, shovel, AT gear, food nourishment and water/hot drink. Ski Crampons. All conditions clothing.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Camera, lots of energy, good spirits and some good jokes. Whatever makes you comfortable for a day in the mountains.

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   07:45 AM
Carpool Location:   Laggans Mountain Bakery - Lake Louise
Carpool Directions:   Laggans is located at the Samson Mall in Lake Louise.

Notes:
Be mindful this is still early season with short days, so be certain you have a head lamp and extra batteries. Ultimately conditions will dictate our final plans.
