Itinerary: |
Skill Session Tuesdays!!
Come out and practice rope rescue skills as the Ice
climbing season fast approaches.
I will be focusing on a given topic once a month.
See agenda below but you are welcome to participate
with other skills you would like to practice/share
outside the topic of the month. Beginners are more
than welcome but it will be most effective if you
are able to do a few minutes of research pre
meeting.
Note that this is a peer to peer sharing session
only and is NOT a course.
AGENDA is as follows:
Nov 29: Escaping Belay/Anchors
Dec 13: Getting to the climber (Rope Ascending,
rappel systems)
Jan 3: Moving a Climber (hauling, rappels)
Jan 31: Scenario 1 (Decision Making pre and post
incident/respond)
Feb/March/April: TBA
|
Required Items to Bring: |
Bring everything you need to practice (minus
ice screws, ice axes, crampons) and warm clothes!!
You will need a headlamp, locking biners,
harnesses, belay device, personal anchor, prussic,
anchor, and a few draws. I will have prussic cords
if you need one or want to try other types.
|
|
Recommended Items to Bring: |
We will need one "victim" per group. Feel free to
bring a heavy back pack or spare tires. I will have
enough ropes (3 singles and two doubles). If anyone
has lanterns, that would be great.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
