Let's go do some top roping at Bear Spirit!
This trip is open to everyone, including
STICKSSS. Bear Spirit is a great place to
practice your technique on steeper ice. The ice
at Bear Spirit tends to be WI3 and WI4, so I'd
recommend STICKSSS participants go on at least
one trip prior to this to get their feet under
them on ice.
We'll meet at Our Lady of Assumption school in
Calgary at 7:30 and carpool from there.
Bear Spirit does not get much sun so please
make sure to bring lots of layers! Also be away
that the approach to the crag involves an ice
step. There is a fixed rope and I am happy to
set up a belay if needed, but everyone must be
prepared to put their crampons on for the last
5-10 minutes of the approach.

| Required Items to Bring: |
|
Harness, ice tools, technical crampons, belay
device, lots of layers. Rope and anchor setup
if you have them. If you
are not sure email me!!
