*** Mountain Film Night ***
Season 8

--- VALLEY UPRISING ---
*Multi-Award Winner*

The Mountain Film Night event series aspires to bring a collection of inspiring and entertaining
films in the style of the Banff Film Festival to warm up your cold winter nights.

This film has taken the Grand Prize Winner at many film fests, including our own Banff Mountain Film Festival!

For the past fifty years, Yosemite’s massive cliffs have drawn explorers and madmen to leave materialism behind and venture onto the high, lonesome granite. The larger-than-life characters of Yosemite carved out an extreme bohemian lifestyle in the valley: living in the dirt, clashing with the National Park authorities, and pioneering the boldest climbs on earth. The torch has been passed across three generations of climbers; through rivalries, tragedies and triumphs, the art of Yosemite climbing has advanced beyond anyone’s imagination.

“A palpable journey that jumps off the screen...I wanted the illicit freedom to continue forever.” - National Geographic Adventure

“Spectacular and awe-inspiring.” - John Horn/The Frame

Running time tonight will be around 90 minutes. Seating at 7:15 pm; show begins at 7:30 pm.

COST:
Admission is free. The event does have two ongoing costs: the theatre rental fee and the screening fee charged by the film-makers, which varies greatly. After viewing the films, you may donate as you wish - $2 to $5 has kept us rolling thus far.

We have Cardel Homes' state-of-the- art theatre reserved for our private use:

- Food and drink are NOT permitted, with the exception of bottled water. DO NOT consume food in the theatre.
- Smoking is prohibited on Cardel property. This includes the parking area.
- Alcohol is also not permitted on site.

PLEASE don't phone/email me in the case that you can't make it AND it's still before the cut-off time - simply remove yourself using the link at the bottom of this page and your seat will be available for someone else.
