When you’re planning your outing to the mountains, you are often doing the trip as a one-day event. But suddenly things go amiss; you get off-route or it is longer than you thought, your buddy wrenches a knee, the rope gets jammed after a rappel. You weren’t planning for a night out, but now you’re faced with The Unplanned Bivy; The Mountaineers Art of Suffering.
Join us for an evening of examining ways to prepare for this occurrence. Bill Corbett, Orvel Miskew and Allan Main will share thoughts around their experiences. What would they have wanted in their packs that was practical, and light. Your past tales may help someone else to get it through that night in just a tad more comfort.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
