Itinerary:
Pigeon Mountain is a great peak to do in any season so since skiing is not in full swing yet it would be great to get up a peak despite the winter conditions. The elevation gain is over 900m and would be considered more of a hike rather than a scramble. Expect about 5 to 7 hours to cover the 15 kms including breaks. This is great conditioning to keep in shape for skiing. All are welcome. Sign up is first come first serve with no prescreening required. You will need some fitness level to gain the elevation but this peak is rated easy with maybe some added effort with snow.
Required Items to Bring:
Expect cold temps and wind so dress in layers. Bring warm layers, gaiters, micro spikes, and water proof hiking boots.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Hiking poles, sun screen.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Google it!
Carpool Departure Time:   08:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Recycle Bins - next to COP on Hwy 1
Carpool Directions:   Recycle Bins next to the Wedding Chapel off Hwy 1

Notes:
Bring a positive attitude and a few jokes to make our day absolutely spectacular!!!!!!! Let's get out there in the off season rather then just waiting for the snow and ice!

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
