Itinerary: |
Drive and stay at Rampart Ck hostel Friday night. Saturday, find
suitably frozen water and go swing the tools. Saturday eve,
share a multi-course potluck feast and option to warm up in the
sauna. Sunday climb some more. Possibly freeze your butt off at
some point during the weekend. Drive home.
There are usually several climbing options in the area, even in
early season, and including for top-roping. Climbing objectives
will vary depending on numbers, experience, # of leaders, Wx,
ice & avi conditions, etc.

Required Items to Bring: |
Climbing gear. Hut & overnight gear except for sleeping bag as
bedding is supplied. Food for 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and
potluck contribution for Saturday supper.

Recommended Items to Bring: |
Avi gear. Extra warm and dry clothing. Earplugs! Beach
clothing (and helmet) for the sauna. Tall tales. Food or cash for
Friday & Sunday dinners usually on the road.
Park pass. $ for gas.

Notes: |
2 night Hostel overnight cost is approx $50 (exact amount will
be confirmed). A deposit will be required. Note that this is a self-
catered trip: expect to share in food prep, cooking, clean-up,
etc.
Please indicate: 1. what you would like to bring for Saturday's
potluck supper, and 2. your (ice) climbing experience level if I
don't know you.
Preference may be given to those not also signed up for other
early season ice trips.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
