Itinerary:
This is a new 6 pitch 5.7 climb on Cascade. The description can be found on gripped magazine's website: http://gripped.com/news/wheat- kings-is-new-seven-pitch-bolted-5-7-in-rockies
The climbing is quite easy and should be friendly for beginners wanting to do their first multipitch. This trip is ROCK IT friendly, but the descent is a rappel, so you must have attended our rappelling info sessions and be comfortable rappelling with supervision. I am happy to provide a second set of eyes to double check your set up, but I am not going to teach rappelling 225m off the ground. To have 4 followers, we will need at least 2 people who can provide a safe lead belay. If you have not climbed with me or Tobias before, please send me a list of any quick resume of climbing you have done (including if you have done a multi-pitch before). ROCK IT people, please let me know what instruction sessions you have attended and what climbing you have done outside of the instructional sessions.
Required Items to Bring:
Harness, Helmet, shoes, belay device, some sort of anchor system (Personal Anchor, Purcell Prussik etc), actual prussic or holoblock for the rappell, WATER, sunscreen, coat, small backpack you are comfortable climbing with, food

Recommended Items to Bring:
Camera

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Park at Cascade Falls parking area on the Lake Minnewanka Road

Notes:
I am staying in Banff Saturday night, so there is no official carpool.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
