Itinerary: |
6 days of backcountry skiing at some sweet
spots in west Kootenay will
involve
complex avalanche terrain and some long
ski descents so
Participants should have
competent abilities for this trip.
DAY 1: On the drive out we'll stretch the legs
with a
ski tour at Kootenay Pass, spending the night
at Hotel Ymir. For relaxing entertainment we
can take in the Friday night
Hillbilly Jam session and dinner special in the
pub. DAYS 2-5: We'll enjoy some day trips
based out of
my house near Kaslo, which is just minutes
from ski
objectives in the Goat Range of the Selkirks
and access up to Kokanee Glacier. We will
winter camp for 1
overnight
to ski summit Mt. Brennan (highest peak in
the Goat Range) or
do a
mini Goat Range traverse.
DAY 6:
Stop for more turns at
Kootenay Pass
on the drive back to Alberta.
Accommodation at Hotel Ymir $25.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
