Wednesdays suck. Half way through the week and the longest time
between weekends and the mountains. Let's shorten our
mountainless stretch by going for a quick after work scramble.
We'll meet at Our Lady of the Assumption at 5:30 pm and leave as
quickly as possible for the scramble destination of Prairie Mountain.
The pace we'll be doing will be relaxed since the destination is
easier - figure that you should be able to do the objective in
something in the neighbourhood of two to three hours. You don't
need to be super fit, or experienced, this will be a friendly trip.
Headlamps and helmets are absolutely mandatory - we'll be out
well after dark - you should understand what that means and be
comfortable with the increased commitment level. If you have any
questions at all, just shoot me an email. The objectives is
reasonably low on the technical scale in light of the time of day and
limited time we've got.
We'll be getting back late - if you have a strict bed time, this isn't
for you.
These trips run on a principle of group collaboration. Everyone is
expected to be involved in decision making and safety of the party.
Like I said, you don't need to be super experienced, but you will be
expected to be an active contributor. I do my best to keep my party
members safe, and you should too.
Dogs are very welcome on the trip! Actually, preference may be
given to people bringing fun mountain dogs to engage the group.
Please check the objective to be sure that your dog is up for the
evening and email me with any questions or concerns.
