Itinerary: |
This trip is for those who are interested in
getting experience on a multi-pitch on a
relatively easy, but still really fun climb
with a great position. No previous multi-pitch
experience is necessary, but you must know how
to safely belay a leader and rappel. The
climbing on the Rundlehorn is not difficult
(5.5 sport), but there are 11 pitches in total
(all ~25m), so we'll have plenty of opportunity
to practice efficiency & work on our
transitions. Depending on the skill set of the
team, I can either lead the entire climb, or we
can take turns leading if participants are keen
to do so (I'm happy either way). If we finish
early, we can head over to Wasootch to get some
more laps in if people are still stoked to keep
climbing, or head back to the campsite if we
are done for the day. Expected climbing time
is 4-6 hours including a short approach & rap
descent.

Required Items to Bring: |
Personal climbing gear (Minimum is helmet,
harness, belay device, personal anchor, two
locking carabiners, comfortable climbing
shoes), food & water for the day, appropriate
clothing for the weather forecast, small
backpack you can climb with.

Carpool Directions: |
|
We'll be departing from the Canoe Meadows parking
lot at 7am sharp. It's a popular climb with some
potential for rockfall from parties above, so it's
a good idea to be first for this climb.

Notes: |
Participants will be selected in late May/early
June. If I haven't climbed with you before,
please send me an email with a description of
your climbing experience. Preference will be
given to people stoked to climb & improve their
skills in order to become more competent
climbing partners. Note: your position on the
wait-list is totally irrelevant to whether or
not you'll be selected for the trip.

|
Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.

Trip Feedback
