Skiing is the best thing about winter and the only thing better than
skiing is becoming a better skier!
I offer ski improvement sessions for beginner/intermediate
skiers. I have been skiing for 33 years, ski raced for 10 years with
moments of glory, ski coached for 2 years, ski toured for 15 years,
and ski patrolled for 3 seasons. I want to pass along some tips that
I've found useful so that your time in the mountains is more fun.
We will be doing some drills to improve your stance, balance and
turning radius as well as playing in the bumps and on small terrain
features.
Since I am volunteering my time, I am asking lesson participants for
a 5$ contribution to pay for my lift ticket.
Required Items to Bring:
25$ for the lift ticket, helmet, goggles, skis, boots, poles,
comfortable ski clothes
How to Get There:
Event Directions:
Meet at the picnic tables outside the lodge at COP ready to ski at
7pm. I will distribute the lift tickets prior to the lesson.
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
Trip Feedback If you have any feedback, positive or negative, concerning this trip or any other, we want to hear from you! You can send any feedback you may have to the Section Chair.
