Itinerary:
Learn how to navigate in the mountains. Learn how to use a map and compass. This full day course will be a mix of theory and practical outdoor sessions. You will develop route plans and white-out navigation plans. Map and Compass workshop will be offered by Rob Davidson, an ACMG Hiking Guide. The workshop fee is $30. This course is a first-come-first-serve and this is based on who can deliver their $30 cheque/cash/INTERAC e-Transfer to ACC Calgary first. Required Items to Bring:
If you are coming with a partner you can share the list below, otherwise, you will need the following items for the course: - Compass (something equivalent to: http://www.mec.ca/product/5037-375/silva-ranger-cl-hi-vis-compass/?h=10+50777+52299&f=10+50565+52299 - GemTrek Canmore/Kananaskis map, Ruler, Pencil, Notebook. When looking for a compass, the following are features you will want: Sighting mirror, Rugged case, Declination adjustment, Clinometer, Glow in the dark

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
