The idea is to meet in the South of the city on
early Saturday morning and drive to Waterton
Lakes National Park in order to start climbing
around 9 am. We will camp, and climb the second
day, and then return to Calgary in the evening.
We will spend a day in the Quick and Dirty
Area, and the other day will depend on
conditions and climbers/leaders abilities.
Few days before the trip, we will call the Park
to confirm conditions. If conditions are not
favourable, our PLAN B is to climb in The Ghost
or the Dry Range (near Ya Ha Tinda ranch).
Camping: Pass Creek picnic site, located on the
park's Entrance Parkway, about four kilometers
from the entrance gate, offers a sheltered
winter campground, FREE OF CHARGE!.
Food: Vimy's Lounge and Grill is open year
round and the idea is to eat there on Sat
evening. You should bring your lunches for both
days and breakfast for Sunday morning.
Please note THIS IS NOT A GUIDED TRIP, and it
may include multi-pitch ice climbing in a
remote location.
We are open to add a couple of spots if other
ice climbing leaders sign up.
