Itinerary: |
For some strange reason it seems this weekend
will be busy, so we'll be getting off the
beaten track a bit to climb on Little Gem, a
nice bit of WI4 up the same drainage as you
take to get to Bear Spirit. It's a fair hike,
taking about 2 hours in and 1.5 out, so be
prepared for some exercise. You can also see
if you can find Dumb and Dumber (both WI2) in
the vicinity if you want to. We should be able
to get a couple of top ropes up, so beginners
are welcome, as are dogs.
This climb is under some large avalanche
terrain, so we might change the venue if
conditions change significantly, which looks
unlikely with the current weather forecast.
|
Required Items to Bring: |
The usual gear to climb ice, helmet, warm
clothing, food, headlamp, etc. We will be
bringing the ropes, screws, anchors, etc, so no
need to bring those.
|
|
Recommended Items to Bring: |
Screws, extenders and rope if you intend to head
off to lead Dumb and Dumber.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!
Cancellation Policy If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
