Itinerary:
Plan is for an exploratory trip into the Sheep River West of Turner Valley to see if we can find some ice lines - I know they're there I found a number of single pitch ice and mixed routes a few years back probably of similar grade possibly lower than King Creek. If we don't find any ice then Plan B is to hike Foran Grade and Windy Point. The weather forecast for the next few days should be favourable showing continuous high single to low double digit -ve values with Sunday being just below freezing with a mix of sun and cloud. The area I'm hoping the ice will be in is indicated by #7 on the linked map: http://kananaskisblog.com/wp-content/KCTG_Maps/V4-1%20SandyMcNabb.jpg Plan B is indicated as Route 16
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, ice tools, harness, boots, gaiters, crampons, locking carabiner, belay device, warm clothing, lunch & hot drinks I have 3 single ropes and a double so we should be covered for ropes.
