Seems like most of the ice crags are not ready
yet, the few places that are ready will
probably be very busy this weekend.
So let's go check out tasting fear.
Several top rope lines can be set up there,
ranging from WI3 - WI5.
I have never been to this place, and there is a
good chance we won't find any climbable ice due
to the warm temperature.
It has an over one hour approach, and we pass
two other multi-pitch climbs on the way, would
be nice to check the condition on those climbs
too. The approach will cross several large
avalanche path, I will bring a shovel, and I
recommend you to do the same. Objective might
change if avi condition gets worse.
Required Items to Bring:
Sort of depends on the weather - assume ice gear
as a minimum.
*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
