Lets have some fun this weekend, enjoy the
forecast sunshine and get outdoors to stretch the
legs on a late season scramble. Took a look at
Heart mountain today and there is only skiff of
snow, so the traverse should be in great
condition.
We will meet up for car pooling at the bins on the
south side of the Transcanada Hwy. on Saturday
morning at 8:00 am and 45 minutes of driving will
deliver us to the trailhead before 9:00 am. The
traverse should take about 4 - 5 hours at a
moderate pace, although we can spend some time
relaxing and taking in the views from the top. To
add to the excitement, the trail up allows for a
few variations and if in good condition and we
feel like it, we can do a bit of fun scrambling
over some steeper slabs or take the easier way
alongside.
This is a great time to get out in the front
ranges before the skiing or ice climbing kicks
into gear, so lets have a good day out together.
