We will meet at the carpool (Our Lady of the Assumption School, bottom of Sarcee Trail)at 9:00 am. We will then drive to the Takakkaw Falls Trailhead parking lot (~3hrs). Hike to the Little Yoho campground near the Stanley Mitchell hut (3- 4hrs) where we'll spend the night. We'll aim for an alpine start around 4:00am, climb the glacier to President Pass; climb President; climb Vice- President and descend the way we came. Expect 8 - 12hrs for the climb. Drive back to Calgary Saturday evening.

harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet, glacier gear (2+ locking biners,2+ non-lockers,sling,pulleys, prussik cords),an ice screw,a picket, appropriate clothing, food, water, headlamp, glacier glasses. Camping gear; we will share tents, stoves etc as appropriate (bring your own loo roll). Camping fee is $10 each, payable to me. Please let me know if you have an Annual Wilderness Pass - if so you get a few $$ refund.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Camera; GPS; PLB (although I should have the club Satphone)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:   Take the Trans-Canada Highway to about 4km east of Field. Take the right turn (north) at Kicking Horse campground; drive ~13km to the parking lot at the end of the road.
Carpool Departure Time:   09:15 AM
Carpool Location:   Our Lady of the Assumption School, bottom of Sarcee Trail
Carpool Directions:   If you are not sure where it is ,give me a call.

Notes:
Please give me some idea of your experience level regarding alpine summits, glacier travel and crevasse rescue (eg the three most significant alpine climbs in the past five years, and your role within the team). This is a *relatively* beginner-friendly trip, but there are some big holes to be navigated safely nonetheless. There is a chance that the bergschrund will have become unmanageable by the end of August - if that is so we will choose another destination entirely, albeit one of similar difficulty level (details tbd).

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
