Itinerary:
We'll be climbing Mother's Day Buttress on Cascade. It's a popular climb, so we'll be trying to get an early start. There is a 3rd class scrambling approach, 8 pitches of 5.4-5.6 trad climbing (bolted stations), and a descent that is mostly a trail but includes some short sections of 3rd class down-climbing and a rappel. Participants must be competent and experienced belaying a leader. Multi-pitch or trad experience are not necessarily required. It is not required that participants lead, but we can share leading if team members are keen to do so. If I haven't climbed with you recently, please send a description of relevant climbing experience.
Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, harness, comfortable climbing shoes, light backpack you can climb with, food and water for the day, warm clothing, approach shoes, belay device, personal prussiks & tether. We won't be returning to the base of the climb, so everything you bring will have to be carried for the entire climb.

Recommended Items to Bring:
camera, sun protection, nut tool

How to Get There:
Carpool Departure Time:   06:30 AM
Carpool Location:   TBD

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our participant responsibility guidelines!

*Cancellation Policy*: If a participant is unable to attend a paid course or trip, there will be no refund unless the participant finds a suitable replacement that is acceptable to the trip coordinator. Acceptable waiting list candidates will have priority. It will then be the participant's responsibility to recover funds from the replacement. If the coordinator cancels an event, participants get a refund (less any non-recoverable costs). Note that ACC National does not refund hut fees due to weather, delay, closures, or any other reasons. The Calgary Section of the ACC is a not for profit club and we only charge attendees what it costs us to provide courses or trips.
